Attaching the Scrubber and Drive Bottles
- How should you orient the frame when mounting the scrubber and drive bottles?
- What is the general orientation rule that applies to components associated with pure oxygen?
- How and where do you mount the scrubber canister assembly?
- What are the key points to observe when mounting the drive bottles?
Key Points
- Start by orienting the frame with the back toward you, so that your right is the diver’s right, and your left is the diver’s left.
- Remember that anything associated with pure oxygen (color coded green) mounts on the right (rich = right).
- Attach the scrubber to the top of the frame using the adjustable strap. Make certain the inlet/outlet orifices and handset/DIVA cables are facing forward.
- Mount the bottles using the small cam bands. Make certain there is sufficient clearance at the top and bottom, that the turnwheels are facing outward, and that the valve orifices face the back of the unit.
- Finally, make sure the oxygen bottle is on the right.
